Hello Friend,

Happy New Year!

We hope those of you located in the Twin Cities, survived the big blizzard of January! We saw about 15-16 inches and took a couple of days to get it cleaned up. As Minnesotans, we take it all in stride and have quickly returned to our winter construction projects.

This month, our January "Property Solutions" newsletter is focused on local City and County happenings. As our geographic focus is on the south metro areas of Minnesota, you will find helpful links to a few of the communities we serve in our "For YOUR Business" section. You will also find a few links to the projects and properties of the clients we are currently serving. We wrap up this month's "Property Solutions" issue with some information regarding staffing solutions from our local community.

We hope 2018 is off to a great start for you and your team!

DAKOTA COUNTY

Dakota County is performing a Principal Arterial Study and this may be of particular interest to many business owners along County Rd 70, County Rd 50, Cedar Avenue (CR-23) and Hwy 3. Jim Connelly and Andrea Kaderlik from our team recently attended a presentation on this topic at the City of Lakeville, and learned that when a road is designated as a "Principal Arterial" that it can have impacts on both existing and future development projects. One example of how this study would impact development, would be the placement and spacing of highway access points (e.g. every 1/2 mile) - for us both as a developer and general contractor, as well as a property owner with sites throughout Lakeville, knowing this information as we plan for the future can have important impacts on designs being worked on today. You may find more information, including handouts, presentations, and more at the link to the DAKOTA COUNTY website.

Industrial Workforce Staffing & Team Solutions

By Andrea Kaderlik

Industrial workforce staffing and team solutions were a couple of topics covered at a recent seminar I had the privilege of attending. This event, hosted by MRCI WorkSource at the Rosemount/Senior Living at Steeples Center in Rosemount, Minnesota, is one of eleven planned "Lunch 'n Learn" seminars with the goal of sharing some of their successes in workforce solutions, while introducing their organization to area businesses. A win-win...you've gotta love it!

This seminar was conducted by Rhonda Kalal, Business Development/Marketing Coordinator (shown left, first row left) for MRCI WorkSource. The focus of the talk was how to "Ignite Spark" within your organization. While citing multiple staggering statistics (e.g. 72% of employees are disengaged, many undermining fellow co-workers and the mission of an organization), Rhonda offered multiple solutions to address the majority (95%) of employees' desire to be part of something GREAT.
